POSTAL HISTORY AND VIGNETTES OF THE 1932 OLYMPIC GAMES
This is an in-depth study of the 1932 Olympic Games, both Lake Placid Winter and Los Angeles Summer Games. The valuation system bases the value of a cover on the sum of the values of the stamps, cachet and postmarks thereon. Over 400 items are illustrated including cachets, postmarks, combination covers, picture postcards, naval cover, cover stuffers and vignettes. While classification of postmarks, cachets and vignettes with valuations is emphasized, one chapter presents naval Olympic covers including cachets and postmarks but without valuations. Also included are a detailed table of contents and bibliography. Other items are Organizing Committee covers, Opening Day covers, Philatelic Exhibitions, labels, locals, and Last Day covers. 196 pp; 5 ½ x 8 ½ inches; loose-leaf three-ring gold stamped vinyl binder.
