Olympic Working Group releases First Report. (06/06/11) -- The First Report which outlines the plan to create a new international Olympic collectors organization that will unite philatelic, memorabilia and numismatic associations has been released. SPI encourages all members to read the report and then express their views to either the SPI President or directly to the IOC (an address is provided on page 2 of the report) by August 31, 2011. The Working Group is scheduled to reconvene this autumn to analyze the comments and generate a final report.

2011 World Olympic Collectors Fair. -- The upcoming 2011 World Olympic Collectors Fair will be held in Chicago from August 4-7 in conjunction with the National Sports Collectors Convention and the Olympin Club. This will be the first visit of the Fair to the USA. (11/19/10)

Constitution and Rules of F.I.P.O. Following discussion, the IOC has decided to establish a Working Group with the objective of assessing whether there is a need for an international organization of collectors. (11/08/10)

Rumsey WESTPEX 2011 Auction to feature Manikian Collection. Schuyler Rumsey Philatelic Auctions of San Francisco will feature the Vic Manikian collection in its WESTPEX 2011 Auction being held from April 28 - May 1. (11/08/10)

Passing of SPI Member Vic Manikian. SPI has just learned that long-time SPI member and philatelic exhibitor, Victor T. Manikian of Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on February 20, 2010 at the age of 81. (09/15/10)
